“For many years, even before recycling became prevalent, I have scoured fields, salvage yards, my neighborhood...any place that might be a source of non-traditional materials for my art. I think combining paint with metal, fabric, paper— or whatever sparks my imagination, adds extra interest and dimension.

I love to work with found objects, and use them to create both two and three dimensional forms. I like texture, bold brushstrokes and the challenge of combining unorthodox elements into a cohesive composition.

There’s a time-worn saying that one person’s trash is another’s treasure. My brain continually bombards me with ideas for transforming cast-off objects into something unique. My goal is to turn one person’s trash into someone else’s pleasure!

And, there are still times when I forego using collage techniques in my work for the sheer fun of playing with juicy, brilliant color. I hope you'll find enjoyment in both approaches.”
